A Day in the Life of a Holt Plumbing and Heating HVAC Technician

Rise and Shine: Starting the Day

As a dedicated HVAC technician at Holt Plumbing and Heating, my day begins early. I wake up at 6 AM, grab a quick breakfast, and head out to our local office in West Des Moines. Our team meets briefly to discuss the day’s schedule and any urgent calls that came in overnight.

Morning: Air Conditioner Service in Des Moines

My first stop is a residential AC service call in Des Moines. The homeowner reported their air conditioner wasn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the situation to the customer and proceed with the necessary repairs.

Mid-Morning: HVAC Installation in Clive

Next, I head to Clive for a new HVAC installation. This job requires precision and teamwork, so I meet up with a colleague. We spend the next few hours carefully installing the new system, ensuring everything is properly connected and functioning optimally.

Lunch Break

I take a quick lunch break, often grabbing something on the go. It’s a great time to catch up on any messages or updates from the office.

Early Afternoon: AC Service in Urbandale

After lunch, I’m off to Urbandale for routine AC service. Regular maintenance is crucial for keeping air conditioning systems running efficiently. I clean the coils, check the refrigerant levels, and ensure all components are in good working order.

Late Afternoon: Air Conditioning Installation in Norwalk

My last scheduled job of the day is an air conditioning installation in Norwalk. The homeowners are upgrading their old system to a more energy-efficient model. I walk them through the features of their new AC and provide tips on maintaining it.

Evening: Emergency Air Conditioner Repair in Johnston

Just as I’m wrapping up, I get an emergency call for an air conditioner repair in Johnston. A family’s AC has completely stopped working on a hot summer evening. I head over immediately, diagnose the issue (a faulty compressor), and work late to get their system back up and running.

End of Day: Wrapping Up

After a long but satisfying day, I return to the office to file my reports and prepare for tomorrow. It’s been a typical day of diverse tasks and challenges, but that’s what I love about working at Holt Plumbing and Heating – no two days are ever the same!

Key Tasks of My Day:

  • Air Conditioner Service
  • HVAC Installation
  • AC Service
  • Air Conditioning Installation
  • Air Conditioner Repair

Working across West Des Moines, Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, Norwalk, and Johnston, I take pride in helping our community stay comfortable all year round.
